Lanka edges past Philippines 25-21 in Asian rugby

Jason Dissanayaka’s spectacular last minute try sealed for Sri Lanka an emphatic 25-21 victory in the Asian Rugby Championship Division 1 match played at Royal Selangor Stadium in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. Sri Lanka led 20-11 at the breather.

For Sri Lanka flanker Jason Dissanayaka (two) and centre Kanchana Ramanayaka (one) scored the tries while full back Reza Mubarak made two conversions and fired across two penalties.

In the other games played yesterday Hong Kong edged out South Korea 34-27 and Malaysia thrashed Singapore 40-20. (WAI)
