SL delegates at CILT International Convention
Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) held their
International Convention in Montreal from May 8 to 11 in Montreal,
Canada. Over 250 people from 24 of its member countries were present.
The theme of the convention this year was 'Linking North America to
the world'. CILT conducts its annual convention in a member country in
rotation every year. Sri Lanka hosted the Convention in 2013 after it
became a territory.
Chairman, CILT, Capt Lasitha Cumarathunga and Chairperson, Women in
Logistics and Transport (WiLAT), Gayani de Alwis represented Sri Lanka
at the convention in Montreal.Vice President Industrial Products, CN,
Fiona Murray and Chairperson of Rail Caucus, Sherry Romanado were the
guest speakers.
Mentorship update and way forward was presented by WiLAT Chairperson
Sri Lanka who is driving this initiative globally.
The conference is held in North America after a lapse of 13 years.
The North America outlook conference was held on the last day with
speakers from across the globe addressing topics such as technology and
innovation trends. |
