People who were badly affected due to the adverse weather condition in the past few days, were now returning to their homes. In this backdrop the Navy was engaged in assisting to clear garbage, which was piled up in public places and on either side of the roads in Wellampitiya, Kotikawatta, Kolonnawa, Biyagama and Bandarawatta areas. Moreover, navy personnel cleaned 80 wells in Biyagama, Mabima and Bandarawatta areas yesterday ( 3).the Navy has cleaned a total of 462 wells up to now. Over 600 navy personnel from SLNS Parakrama, SLNS Thakshila, SLNS Rangala, SLNS Mahasen and SLNS Kelani were involved in the clean-up operations.
