Colombo Food Festival from today

Colombo Food Festival, Sri Lanka's largest outdoor food carnival will kick off today at the ViharaMaha Devi Open Air Theatre. The event will bring together a wide variety of food including organically grown produce, natural foods, fresh juices, snacks, fast foods, bakery products and much more.

Speaking on the decision to launch out such an event, Founder of the Colombo Food Festival RajithaMelder notes, "Colombo is overflowing with eateries that serve everything from traditional Sri Lankan dishes to food from the four corners of the world.

However, when it comes to making a choice of dining out with friends or family most of us have quite a dilemma in making a choice. Especially in a group of people the likes and dislikes will definitely vary. What the Colombo Food Festival does is simplify the decision making process by bringing all types of vendors serving up food from around the world under one roof."

Stalls at the event will be truly inter-continental with food from Japan, Italy, Mexico, India, Arabia, Canada and Sri Lanka available to tantalize customer's taste buds.

Colombo Food Festival will be open from 10am to 10pm every Sunday from the 5th of June onwards. The main reasons for selecting the ViharaMaha Devi Open Air Theatre is the multitudes that throng to the children's park and walking tracks every weekend.

Entrance to the Colombo Food Festival will be free of charge, while smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited as it is a family-oriented event.
