Report on current economic situation

Dr, Sarath Amunugama, Minister for Special Assignments, recently held a discussion at his ministry, on the current economic situation and challenges facing Sri Lanka, with a group of eminent Sri Lankan economists.

The economists who participated at this discussion were Dr. W.A.Wijewardena, Dr. Sirimevan Colombage, Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Dr. Dushyanthi Weerakoon, Mr. Priyantha Ratnayake, Dr. Sirimal Abeyratna and Dr. Sarath Rajapathirana.

After a wide ranging discussion it was decided to submit a report to the government on Sri Lanka’s economic development and challenges. It was also decided to continue these discussions on a monthly basis.
