Nihonbashi: turns 21

Chef Dharshan Munidasa

Voted as one of the 50 Best Restaurants in Asia since 2013, Nihonbashi turned 21 on June 28.

Founded in 1995 by Chef Dharshan Munidasa, the restaurant's culinary journey has evolved into an internationally recognised restaurant and listed on 'Asia's 50 Best Restaurants sponsored by Acqua Panna and San Pellegnino.

Chef Dharshan Munidasa and Nihonbashi celebrated this momentous occasion by offering two distinct dinning experiences. The popular Sukiyaki prepared from beef, 'Kuroge Wagyu Sirloin' and 'the best of Nihonbashi' menu that showcased some of Dharshana's signature dishes and some recent creations.

Nihonbashi's dishes are not just authentic and proper Japanese but local in ingredients wherever possible.Modern interpretations of classics are a unique selling point of Nihonbashu and sometimes these dishes are not even found in Japan anymore but are still washaku (Japanese cuisine) at heart.
