The Kurunegala Police said a person was stabbed
to death during a Community Mediation Board (CMB) meeting at a
Buddhist temple in Athkanda, Kurunegala, yesterday. The stabbing,
according to the Police, occurred after an argument over a land
issue. Both parties were summoned before the community mediation
board last morning, following a complaint lodged over the matter.
