The inaugural meeting of the newly formed SLFP-JVP Alliance will be held on Thursday, January 29, at 2.00 pm at the Town Hall Grounds, Colombo.

The meeting will be addressed by the JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe. Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakse, Anura Bandaranaike, Mangala Samaraweera, Tylvin Silva and Wimal Weerawansa are also scheduled to address the rally.

The Sunday Observer reliably learns that the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna, (MEP), National Unity Alliance (NUA) and Desha Vimukthi Janatha Peramuna (DVJP) will announce their allegiance to join hands with the new Alliance at the rally. Steps are now being taken to register the name and symbol of the new alliance.

Sources said that there the names of office bearers of the alliance may be announced at the rally.
