Local trade team invited to New Zealand

New Zealand does not provide incentives to businessmen since successive Governments do not manage or regulate the economy but ensure that policies do not change, outgoing New Zealand High commissioner for India, Nepal and Sri Lanka Caroline McDonald said during her visit to the island.

The High Commissioner said that they would strive to introduce the Sri Lanka Australia, New Zealand Business Council (SLANZBC)to similar Organizations in New Zealand for interaction.

Ms McDonald invited a trade delegation from Sri Lanka to visit that country which would ensure acceleration of promotional activities.

The Business Council made a request that any trade delegation visiting India from New Zealand be routed through Sri Lanka.

The representative from Sri Lanka Tourism said that opportunities in the tourism and education market should be improved with the help of Australia and New Zealand.

As Honorary Consul for New Zealand in Sri Lanka, Norman Gunawardene, suggested that the Business Council should involve Sri Lankans who have migrated to the respective countries to receive information and support.
