Singer sponsors rugby in a big way! Fifteen schools who play regular inter-school rugby football matches have the good fortune of being sponsored by one of the leading mercantile establishments - Singer, Sri Lanka Limited. Singer's sponsorship will no doubt held to develop the game at school level and help the individuals and the schools in general to forge ahead. In the local schools rugby calendar, Singer, Sri Lanka is the main sponsor of the under 19 Schools League Tournament and the Schools 7s Tournament. They will also sponsor Isipatana's International Schools Rugby 7s where local and foreign schools teams will figure. Singer will also sponsor for the 10th year the popular and much looked forward to 'Blue Ribband' of the inter-school season - the Bradby Shield encounter between Royal and Trinity. The following schools are being sponsored by Singer Sri Lanka: St. Anthony's College (Kandy), Ananda College, St. Aloysius College (Galle), Dharmaraja College (Kandy), Isipatana, St. Joseph's College, Nalanda College, St. Peter's College, Richmond College (Galle), Royal College, Thurstan College, S. Thomas' College, Trinity College, Vidyartha College, Wesley College. Kandy Sports Club who emerged as triple crown champions for the past three years is also sponsored by Singer who also sponsored the Kandy SC's International Rugby 7's along with SriLankan Airlines for the past five years. |
