North and East gets exposure on entrepreneurial schemes The North and East would have more exposure to the entrepreneurial schemes of the Start and Improve Your Business ((SIYB) Sri Lanka Association, in the year ahead, Project Manager for the ILO-SIYB project Gemunu Wijesena said at the third annual convention of SIYB, held last week. SIYB has trained more than 6000 entrepreneurs in how to start, improve and expand their businesses, secretary, SIYB Executive Council, P G Amarapala, said. The program is held with the funding of International Labour Organisation (ILO). Also on the occasion, was the launch of the a new business-training package called KAB - Know About Business, aimed at vocational trainers who are interested in starting their own business after finishing their vocational training. The training will be conducted at vocational training institutes by certified KAB trainers. The SIYB Sri Lanka Association is a private sector national association of business support services for Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MIME). The association represents 40 leading public and private sector business support service organisations in the local MIME training industry and almost 200 training professionals, it was made out at the convention. |
