Hundred more rooms for Taj Airport Garden by Hiran H.Senewiratne Taj Airport Garden (TAG)is planning a major expansion program to add 100 more rooms and a Banquet Hall to its property next year.A Singapore architectural firm will undertake to design the hotel in accordance with India Taj standards, its newly appointed General Manager Sanjay Singh said. He said that they are in the process of developing the infrastructure facility of the 37 acre hotel property with the assistance of the parent company in Mumbai to make the hotel more customer-centric. "We want to offer a mixed product to our clientele with four to five star experience" the General Manager said. Singh said that priority will also be given TO the upgrading of the half a km drive from the entrance to the hotel premises with a beautiful landscape and smart uniforms for the staff. He said that all development work will be done to suit the clientele including the corporate sector, travel agents, airline cruise and airline transit passengers. "Our attempt at the TAG Hotel is three fold -firstly to constantly upgrade our product, secondly to provide seamless service and build a unique culture and thirdly to base these two important aspects on guest feedback by effectively utilising the captured data for continuous improvement", Singh said. Sales Manager Ashok Fernando said that the hotel intends to re-activate water sports in the Negombo lagoon which is situated close to the hotel, set up a health centre and a pub in the future. TAG local operations management is entirely managed through the Taj Group of Hotels in India. Apart from TAG, the group has two more hotels operating in Sri Lanka, namely Taj Samudra in Colombo and Taj Exotica at Bentotta. |
