Hameedia to capture Indian market Sri Lanka's leading specialist in menswear clothing Hameedia will enter the Indian market, to promote one of its own popular upmarket brands 'Envoy',in the future. This is a first time that a local brand goes to the huge Indian market in a big way,which will be available in Chennai outlets from next week, Hameedia Managing Director, Fouzul Hameed said. "The Indian partner has 50 shops and they are quite happy with our quality standards", Hameed said at the launching of their latest campaign 'Dress to Win'. "We are the market leader in the original menswear in Sri Lanka.We are not looking for big sales in India immediately," Fouzul emphasised. He said that with Sri Lankan men becoming increasingly fashion conscious this campaign is targeted at those discerning individuals who see more variety and style in their lifestyle and clothing. The Hameedia brands that gained strong loyalty in the domestic market and abroad, are Le Bond, Envoy and Signature. The group has also built successful business partnerships with other world leading brands in fashion wear such as Van Heusen,Raymond, Louise Phillippe, Lee, Arrow and Adidas. The campaign comprises raffle draw for customers who purchase clothes worth more than Rs 5,000 at a time. Among these,20 lucky winners will receive a wardrobe of clothes to the value of Rs 100,000 each. This wardrobe will include a combination of clothes from the Hameedia casual wear range to its daily wear and formal wear range. Hameed said that the theme for this year's campaign has the dual meaning of dressing and winning the draw literally and dressing for success. Hameedia was established in 1949,and since then it has been phenomenally becoming the preferred name in designer wear clothing in Sri Lanka.
