New upmarket resort in Tangalle

Amanwella Hotel is the latest addition to the Aman Resorts Group which own and operate several Upmarket Resorts in 15 countries.

The Upmarket Amanwella Hotel at Tangalle in the Hambantota District was opened by President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse. The Governor of the Southern Province Kingsley T. Wickremaratne was the Guest of Honour.

The Amanwella Hotel is built on a 30-acre land and has 30 chalets and is the second Aman Resort Hotel that has been opened in Sri Lanka. On December 15, 2004, the Amangala Hotel (the former NOH) was opened in the Galle Fort by Governor Wickremaratne. The Chairman of the Hotel Group is Vashi Mohinani and the Chairman of Aman Resorts International is Adrian Zakkar. The Hotel has been already fully booked from April 2005.
