Huge boost for Ceylon Tea in Japan

The annual Foodex Japan 2005 trade exhibition was held for the 30th occasion from March 8-11 at the Nippon Convention Centre (Makuhari Messe) in Chiba. This was the eighth consecutive occasion that the Sri Lanka Tea Board participated in this largest Food and Beverage Trade Show in the Asia Pacific Region in "the Land of the Rising Sun".

The Tea Promotion Unit of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in consultation with the Sri Lanka Tea Board had their largest participation ever, in Japan at this show.

The Group Stand for Ceylon Tea consisted of 14 large booths, right in front of the USA pavilion.

The JETRO pavilion sponsored 10 exporting companies from Sri Lanka.
