Royalist Dulanjaya Wijeratne takes over lead in All-Island contest

Dulanjaya Wijeratne of Royal College took over the lead from Peterite Lahiru Peiris polling 11,078 votes to Peiris' 10,561 votes at the end of count number 8 of the OBSERVER-BATA Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer All Island competition.

Sebastianite skipper Dilhan Cooray with 1,524 votes moved up to the number eight spot ousting Mazenodian Nilukshan Nonis with 1,475 votes.

In the Outstation Most Popular Schooboy Cricketer of the Year competition, Andy Solomons of St. Thomas' College, Kotte with 6,726 votes maintained his lead over his nearest rival Mohammed Shakir of Azhar College, Akurana who polled in 3,530 votes.
