Bak Maha Ulela of Mahanama College

An eventful day for the entire school, the Bak Maha Ulela commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp at the school grounds last month (April 7) by the chief guests, Professor Pandula Andagama, Assistant Director of Children's Programmes (Rupavahini), Srimathi Liyanage, the Principal of the school, W. H. Premalal Kumarasiri and other distinguished invitees.

A rich blend of tradition and modernity was displayed through the variety of events and competitions such as Kana mutti gaseema (breaking the pot), Aliyata es thabima (marking the eye on the elephant), Kotta pora, Kulu dancing, Musical chairs, Lime and spoon race, Gunny race, Tug-o'-War and cycle races, with the participation of students from all grades. Teachers and parents too had their own events.

Featured are some of the highlights from the Bak Maha Ulela....
