Twenty to 30 coconut oil mills in the coconut growing areas of the country are expected to recommence production of coconut oil shortly, following the government's decision to remove the 15 percent VAT on coconut oil produced.

CEPA to be finalised by end 2006
 

The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between India and Sri Lanka is expected to be finalised by the end of this year. The CEPA was to be finalised at the end of last year but due to several reasons including implementation issues of the Indo Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement and other issues it got delayed, an official of the Commerce Department said.
