Lanka's tea prices to gain from galloping oil prices
Sri Lanka's tea exports could gain from the now
trend of galloping oil prices, because the Middle Eastern and
Commonwealth of Independent States who purchase around 70 percent of
the island nation's tea shipments, are oil producers with benefiting
economies.

APTA tariff concessions from next month
Tariff concessions agreed during the third round
of negotiations under the Asia Pacific Trade Agreement formerly
known as the Bangkok agreement will be implemented next month. The
members of APTA are Bangladesh, China, India, Republic of Korea,

New technology to produce rice flour food items
The Institute of Post-harvest Technology has
introduced new technology to substitute wheat flour with rice flour
in the production of several food items. With the new technology
quality biscuits, cake and noodles can be produced by using 100%
rice flour.
