Seylan Bank signs Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft

Seylan Bank, has made investments to upgrade its network infrastructure, enabling the bank to overcome challenges in implementing key business initiatives and drive an increase in revenue. Seylan Bank has signed an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with Microsoft, which enables them to install Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory across the entire system, as well as implement Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

Microsoft's EA provides volume licences for medium and large-scale businesses that make an enterprise wide decision to deploy Microsoft products. The EA is Microsoft's most preferred offering for its corporate clients - ensuring that the enterprise customer receives a host of value - added benefits along with genuine Microsoft software.

Commenting on this pioneering initiative by Seylan Bank, Dr. Nihal Ramanayake said, "Seylan has been proactively striving to provide the best in terms of information and communication technology to its customers and employees alike. We had been facing several challenges in implementing key business initiatives to further drive our growth momentum. With this investment in an EA with Microsoft, we have performed a major overall of our networking systems. We will now be able to improve our internal processes and create more value for our customers."

"This also differentiates us from other banks - as a technology savvy financial institution, with exclusive access to indepth technical expertise through various fora. This investment has helped us boost our system security and with the Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS), it has enabled us to better manage our IT assets, reduce downtime, increase productivity and resolve technical problems much more quickly.

Our employees too will get access to e-learning, enabling them to enhance their knowledge on the use of IT to boost productivity, resulting in an overall positive impact for the bank.
