FCCISL Back to Business enterprises sales top Rs. 1.3 m

The Back to Business project of FCCISL, the most comprehensive private sector initiative for the rehabilitation of tsunami affected enterprises and livelihoods, sponsored fifteen rehabilitated enterprises to provide market linkage opportunities for their products at the Summer Fair exhibition recently at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre.

It was a very successful event for all enterprises, who participated as they collectively generated sales exceeding Rs.1.36 million while securing many important linkages and steady orders.

Evaluations carried out revealed that every participant was thankful to the project for this opportunity. "We not only had a good sale and secured orders but this was also an opportunity to learn about the new markets and how to cater to them", proprietor of Gem Look Garments said.

The Market/Corporate Linkage component of the project is fully financed by the Embassy of the Netherlands. The project will continue to provide effective market linkage to these rehabilitated enterprises affected by the tsunami to support their sustainability.
