Colombo University fare prominently in Malaysia

University of Colombo oarsmen fared prominently, winning a gold, silver and bronze medals at the Uniten Rowing International Regatta held in Putrajaya, Watersport Complex in Malaysia.

Ten oarsmen from University of Colombo together with seven other universities participated at the Regatta. University of Colombo, Coxless Fours won the gold-Dinesh Lasantha (s), Champika Namantha (2), Chinthaka Sanjeewa (3), Chamara Adhikari (b) took first place with a time of 7.16.57 secs. while the UOC second four won the silver. Pathum Srinath, Pathum Madushanka, Udara Sampath, N. Rohitha 'clocked' 7.22.55 secs. Third place went to NTU of Singapore and UTM Malaysia placed fourth.

In the mens Double Sculls, UOC pair Champika Namantha and Chinthaka Sanjeewa won the bronze medal - 09.09.30 secs.
