Open University, IPM sign MoU

Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) and the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (Inc) (IPMSL) marks the beginning of mutual collaboration between a National University of Sri Lanka and a Professional Institute incorporated by an Act of Parliament.

The IPM being the pioneer Human Resource Management institute in this country having been established in 1959 and incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1976 has international affiliations with the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management (APFHRM) and the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA).

IPMSL joining hands with the OUSL will be of immense assistance to those who wish to further their studies at a higher level in the discipline of Human Resource Management.

The program will greatly benefit to the development and delivery of study programs in Human Resource Management leading to the award of Degrees and Diplomas by the Open University of Sri Lanka.

In the initial phase of this collaborative venture the two institutions will jointly develop a Master of Business Administration Degree in Human Resource Management (MBA in HRM), which will be offered using Open Distance Learning (ODL) methods as well as Interactive Learning Methods.
