Ex-seminarians donate computer facilities to Oblate Juniorate
The ex-seminarians of St. Joseph's OMI Seminary, Kohuwala came
forward to donate a computer facility to their Alma Mater recently. A
computer room with newly equipped facilities including six PCs was
opened on February 17 by Rev. Fr. Clement Waidyasekara OMI, the
Provincial of the Sri Lanka Province in the presence of Rev. Fr. Irwin
Morais OMI, the Rector of the seminary and other priests.
The ex-seminarians set their hands on the project following a request
by Fr. Rector who also functions as the Moderator of the Ex-Seminarians
Association, known as St. Eugene's, named after the founder of the
Congregation of Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
Former Secretary of the St. Eugene's Association Rex Clementine
speaking on behalf of the ex-seminarians hailed the decision taken by
Fr. Morais to equip the young seminarians with IT knowledge. Clementine
specially thanked two ex-seminarians, Prasanga Gamage and Pradeep Nirosh
the two computer engineers for their hard work to materialise the plan
to complete the project within a specific period and thanked Fr. Rector
for inviting the ex-seminarians to be part of this important endeavour.
Former Rector Rev. Fr. Herman Paul OMI, Rev. Fr. Prasanna Rodrigu OMI,
Rev. Fr. Lyle Jayanth Fernando OMI and Rev. Fr. Angelo OMI also took
part in the opening ceremony.
