Captors release CCD director's BIL

The Colombo Crime Division's (CCD) Director, SSP Sarath Lugoda's
brother-in-Law, Raja Kulendran who was abducted last week by an
unidentified gang in the Kirulapone area was released by his captors at
a desolate place in Wariayapola last Friday.
According to CCD sources, Kulendran was taken in a vehicle to an
unknown destination. He was finally released last Friday after being
held in captivity for nearly eight days.
His captors thereafter had blindfolded him again and dropped him at a
lonely village. Kulendran, thereafter had walked about 200 meters and
sought shelter in a remote home. After narrating his story to the
inmates, they handed him over to the Wariyapola police where they
recorded his statement.
According to Colombo Crime Division (CCD) sources the motive for his
abduction is not known.
He was admitted to a hospital due to his weak condition. Raja
Pulendran, a businessman was abducted by a gang after they intercepted
his vehicle near the traffic lights at High Level Road, Base Line Road
junction while returning home that day. The gang after seizing Kulendran
bundled him into a vehicle and took him to an unknown destination.
His whereabouts were not known since then. The incident took place
around 12.30 a.m after he dropped his manager at his residence at
Kirulapone. Kulendran is a resident of Sri Saranankara Road, Wellawatte.
According to the police the suspects involved in the abduction have not
been identified yet. Police are conducting further inquiries.
