Galway Beach & Spa

Galway Hotel Management Services (Pvt) Ltd. added another star to its group when they took over Villa Riviera Hotel, Beruwala and named it Galway Beach and Spa.

Since Galway took over Villa Riviera, the hotel has undergone a massive refurbishment and now shines as a new star at Beruwala overlooking the gorgeous golden stretch of beach at Beruwala.

The hotel is now equipped with a modern lobby, a main restaurant and a roof top Coffee Shop from where guests get a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean. The garden area has been beautifully landscaped, retaining the old world charm, with modern facilities.

Galway Beach and Spa has 54 guest rooms inclusive of two suites. All rooms are equipped with Mini-Bar, TV, satellite channel, telephone, with IDD facilities, room service, private safes, tea/coffee machines, hair dryers, etc.

The large and beautiful swimming-pool has been re-done and stands as one of the best swimming-pools in the region. The new Executive Resident Manager, Tyrell Morrison said that an extensive marketing plan has been commenced to market the property not only for the European market but to focus more on the Sri Lankan market.

Morrison said that he is very keen to market the hotel for local company picnics, family outings, seminars, banquet functions, weddings etc. for which the hotel is equipped with all modern facilities. Headed by Executive Chef Sudharshana Weerasinge, the hotel offers the very best in Western, Eastern, Chinese and Sri Lankan cuisine.

Food and Beverage Manager, Guy Murcott said that very soon the hotel will begin a 7-day Theme Night to offer guests a wide variety of food with a difference each day.

Very soon the hotel will introduce a Sunday buffet with swimming facilities, specially to Sri Lankans. Galway Beach and Spa has a modern Spa which is equipped with all the latest health treatments. This is one of the most popular Spars in the area, Morrison said. The hotel also has a Gym.

Galway Beach & Spa is owned and managed by Galway Hotel Management Services (Pvt) Ltd. Its Chairman is Dayananda Gunathilake. Other Directors are Mrs. Indrani Gunathilake, Tiran Nanditha Gunathilake, Udayanga Gunathilake and Chaturanga Gunathilake. The company also owns Galway Forest Lodge, Nuwara Eliya and Galaway Miridiya Lodge, Anuradhapura.
