Singapore Airlines to promote Lanka's tourism
Singapore International Airlines has agreed to air several 30 second
clips of Sri Lanka on board on all movie channels, on all SQ flights
flying out of Singapore following a request from Sri Lanka Tourism.
Singapore Airlines flies to more than 64 cities in 35 countries. All
flights flying into Colombo will also air a destination arrival video.
As part of the partnership, Singapore Airlines will support to
promote Sri Lanka by organising familiarisation tours of writers from
top Magazines in Indonesia, China, Korea, Australia and South Africa.
These visits are organised through the SIA international offices and
are facilitated by the Sri Lanka Tourist Board and the tourism industry
of Sri Lanka.
The first team of SIA sponsored journalists arrived in the island in
mid March from Indonesia. The team consisted of four editors from top
lifestyle magazines; The Indonesian Tatler, Itnasiri, Kartini and
Ayahbunda.
The journalists spent four days exploring Sri Lanka's rich cultural
heritage, amazing wildlife and soothing Ayurveda and spa treatment. The
host hotels included 'Ayurvedha Pavilion', 'The Blue Oceanic Hotel', 'Mahaveli
Reach Hotel' and the 'Deer Park Hotel' (Angsana Spa).
The second team of journalists from Korea, are due to arrive soon
followed by journalists from China, South Africa and Australia.
