Tough battle for supremacy in CR vs CH game today
RUGBY: A terrific tussle for supremacy could be witnessed at Longden
Place this evening, when CR & FC battle CH & FC in their Cup category
Caltex League Rugby Championship game. CR won the first-round game
(19-13) at Maitland Crescent.
The 'red shirts' were riding on a wave of success until they met
their waterloo at the hands of undisputed champions Kandy Sports Club in
the first-round. Losing a game is quite different to the way you play.
In this particular game, CR, had a very mediocre game which surprised
even their opponents.
Even in the second-round, much was to be desired though beating
Police and Army.
They have a crack back-division with some speedy runners and all
depends on how well the forwards win the ball for the 'outsides' to
perform.
CH are not a side to give up without a fight. Fijian centre Jimmy
Bolakoro is again a doubtful starter for today's game, but veteran coach
Tony Amith is confident that his 'charges' could pull off a victory.
They had a close call last week against a rejuvenated Havies outfit.
