Dharmaraja and St. Anthony's Balika hockey champs

HOCKEY: St. Anthony's Balika Vidyalaya Kandy and Dharmaraja College, Kandy won the girls and boys under 15 hockey championships in the tournaments held earlier this month.

The matches were played at the University Grounds, Peradeniya and the tourneys were organised by the Kandy District Schools Hockey Association. St. Anthony's Balika Vidyalaya won the girls tournament after 8 years beating Seeta Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy by 2 goals to nil in the final.

In the tourney for boys, Dharmaraja College beat Sri Sumangala, Kandy by 1 goal to nil in the final. The champion teams were coached by G. G. Dharmaratne - Playground Instructor, Kandy Municipal Council.
