Amidst of accusation by certain segments of the
political domain that no significant change has been delivered to
fill the socio-economic gap under 'Mahinda Chinthanaya' the
government replied that it was satisfied with the progress that had
been achieved during the last two years while bringing military
victories to regain peace and defeat decades-long terrorism.

Media attempts to sign 'death warrants' fail:
Casualties are the same be it Lanka or Iraq
There had been several attempts over the week to
issue death certificates of soldiers who are still alive through
many media reports in the aftermath of the Muhamalai limited
operation by the Security Forces to destabilise the Forward Defences
of the LTTE in the Jaffna peninsula. Once again there had been
attempts to highlight the Muhamalai incident as yet another debacle
exactly like in October last year.

Crossovers small.... No storms, only winds - PM
Sunday Meeting with Shanika Sriyananda
Prime Minister Wickremanayake said that crossing
over to Opposition from the Government and vice versa was not a new
phenomenon and was common in democracies. 'I am quite confident that
the Government is very stable. There may be small winds blowing this
way and that way but they are not storms, remember they are only
small winds', he said.
