Four women and guest house manager arrested

Four women including the manager of a popular guest house in Puttalam were arrested by the police following a raid conducted at a popular guest house in the heart of Pattalam town last week.

Police told the Sunday Observer that the proprietor of the hotel had a close relationship with a former powerful politician in the area who supported him to carry on with the business. The arrested women are from Kurunegala, Anuradhapura and Mundalama area.

The guest house was being patronised by government officials and businessmen from nearby areas. Police said employed women too had acted as sex workers to earn extra money.

OIC Anti Vice Striking Force(CAVSF) Chief Inspector Duminda Balasuriya and party conducted the raid on the instructions of SSP Jayantha Perera of the CAVSF.
