Over 1000 permanent houses for shanty dwellers

The UDA yesterday said that over 1000 permanent houses are under construction at the Railway yard, Dematagoda, to be given to residents of Station Passage, Glennie Passage and Garden Stuart Street of Kompannaweediya before the end of March next year.

Traffic scheme for SAARC Summit

The Fort Railway Station will not be closed from August 1-4 for the SAARC Summit as announced earlier. Police media spokesman SSP Ranjith D. A. Gunasekera said that all trains from Kandy will be permitted to run up to the Fort railway station on these days.
