EPF, ETF to come under one roof

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees Trust Fund (ETF) will be set up under one roof in a massive 30-storeyed building at Narahenpita shortly.

The building will be constructed on a one-acre land, located between the Labour Department main building and the Sri Lanka Central Transport Head Office at Narahenpita.

The foundation stone for the new building, named ‘Surakum Piyasa’, will be laid by Labour Relations and Manpower Minister Athauda Seneviratne on November 15.

Speaking to the Sunday Observer Labour Ministry Secretary Mahinda Madihahewa said the approval to construct the new building was given by the Cabinet a few days ago and the cost will be jointly borne by EPF and ETF divisions.

Several Government institutions, such as a Central Bank branch, Agriculture Department office, Insurance division and a Magistrate’s Court will also be accomodated in the building, which will benefit all.
