President to open Kinniya bridge

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will ceremonially open Sri Lanka's longest bridge on Tuesday, constructed across the Kinniya bay, connecting China Bay and Kinniya, Cooperatives Minister Najeeb A. Majeed said.

The Minister said security will be beefed up in Kinniya and the surrounding areas with the assistance of Armed Forces and

Police personnel. Nearly 1500 police officers will be deployed to regulate the movement of the public during the event.Minister Majeed pointed out that Kinniya residents, comprising over 18,000 families, will benefit in a big way by the completion of the bridge.
