Expatriate granted bail

A French National of a multi national beverage company at Biyagama who assaulted his subordinate officer following an argument was produced in court by the Biyagama Police and was granted bail. The courts referred the matter to the mediation board for settlement.

According to Police the Director of the Human Resources section of the company became the victim of the assault.

The victim was summoned to the office of the expatriate Chief Executive Officer and was assaulted following an argument. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) was later arrested by the Biyagama Police and was produced before the Gampaha Magistrate Courts. The suspect was later granted cash bail of Rs. 1,500 and surety bail of Rs. 50,000 and ordered to seek court permission to travel abroad.

The matter came to light when the complainant called over at the Negombo police station and got himself admitted to the Negombo Base Hospital. Police recorded his statement at the Negombo Hospital.
