Executive chef of Galway Forest Lodge, Nuwara eliya Wijesiri Delthalawage was selected Chef of the Year 2009 under the category Excellence in Service at the Presidential Awards for Travel and Tourism Sri Lanka.

The awards ceremony was held at the BMICH with Deputy Minister Economic Development, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena as chief guest.Chef Delthalawage has excelled in the industry for over 25 years. He has served as Executive Chef for star class hotels around Sri Lanka, gaining experience in the preparation of a variety of international and Sri Lankan cuisine.
