Sivakumar wins gold
S. Sivakumar won the gold medal and cash award, while M.H.M.C.
Bandara won the silver medal, as part of the CTA Schaffter Award 2010 at
the recent convocation of the Wayamba University.
The CTA Schaffter Award, is awarded annually to the top three
students who excel in the B.Sc (Hons) degree program in Insurance and
Valuation at the Wayamba University. This degree program is instrumental
in giving Sri Lanka fully fledged professionals in insurance and
valuation and trains around 25 graduates a year.
In recognition of Schaffter's contribution to insurance in Sri Lanka,
and, Janashakthi Insurance which he founded 16 years ago, the management
of the company in collaboration with the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka
launched this awards scheme three years ago.
Janashakthi's Assistant General Manager of Human Resources
Development Lalith Munasinghe said that the Company was happy with the
success of the Award and the degree to which it inspired undergraduate
students of insurance.
