Chilaw Marians gain first innings points

CRICKET: Opener Buddhi Samarawickrema hit an unbeaten 94 to help Chilaw Marians SC take first innings points over BRC on the second day of their SLC Under 23 division I cricket tournament match which continued at Havelock Park yesterday.

BRC: 170 (P. Jayasinghe 45, F. Saleem 20, M. Kodamullage 20, U. Karunaratne 5 for 56, A. Janoda 2 for 42, M. Liyanapathirana 2 for 48)

Chilaw Marians SC: 305 for 6 (B. Samarawickrema 94 n.o, L. Weragala 53, R. Gunasekera 51, G.Alwis 47, A. Janoda 20 n.o., R. Perera 3 for 37).

NCC well placed

NCC were placed at 200 for 5 in reply to Moors SC's first innings total of 236 runs at Maitland Place yesterday.

TU on 1st innings

Half centuries from Janith Perera (54) and Chaturanga Kumara (70) could not prevent Colts CC from conceding first innings points to Tamil Union at Havelock Park yesterday.

Opener Nipun Karunanayake hit a sparkling century as Bloomfield built up a huge first innings lead over Sri Lanka Air Force SC on the second day of their SLC Under 23 Division I cricket tournament match which continued at Rifle Green yesterday.

Air Force SC: 156 and 25 for no loss

Bloomfield: 367 (N. Karunanayake 100, M. Warnapura 93, L. Lakmal 56, N. Nonis 35, A. Gihan 3 for 153, B. Sandaruwan 3 for 40, A. Ishanka 2 for 129).

Ragama CC in lead

Ragama Cricket Club to surpassed Moratuwa Sports Club total of 206 runs at Moratuwa. Moratuwites resuming at the overnight score of 187 for 7 were all out for 206 with Sameera Perera claiming 4 for 62.
