Best performance for throwing events... Lakshan Fernando of
St. Joseph’s College, Colombo won the Best Performance for
Throwing Events at the Sri Lanka Schools Senior
Championships for Sir John Tarbat Cup.
The meet was held at Sugathadasa Stadium. Fernando hurled
the Javelin to a distance of 62.37 metres in the under 20
category to win the award. He was runner-up in Putt Shot and
Discus Throw events too. Lakshan Fernando (left) receives

the Sugathadasa Stadium. Schools AAA Secretary Anil
Weerasinghe is also in the picture. Fernando won Public
Schools Colours for all three field events.
Mowbray girls Champs... Mowbray Girls College, Kandy who
brought honour and glory to the hill capital and Sri Lanka
when they won the Indo-Sri Lanka Friendship Schools Athletic
Championship organised by the Chennai Athletic Association
in Chennai, South India.
