Central Bank, ICASL and ACCA workshop on IFRS
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and the Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants, UK (ACCA) are combining strengths to conduct a workshop on
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The course will
introduce the concept of IFRS financial statements with extensive
references to banking and financial sector transactions, financial
instruments and the relevant accounting methodology for each type and a
comprehensive case study to ensure ability to apply course learnings.
Vandana Saxena Poria and Saket Modi from Get Through Guides (GTG) will
be the trainers. Vandana is a fellow member of ACCA and ICAEW and her
experience was gained with Ernst & Young and BPP Holdings Plc., UK's
largest listed professional training company. Having served as CEO of
BPP's International Division, she moved to India and set up GTG to
provide materials and training of international standards at cost
effective prices. GTG is a Gold Approved tuition provider for both face
to face and distance learning for ACCA.
Saket Modi is ICAI qualified and has worked in UK and India for many
years. In UK he was heavily involved in financial reporting for Lloyds
TSB group and led internal training sessions on IFRS. He has excellent
knowledge on banking and finance transactions reporting in addition to
general audit and tax experience.
The program is structured in two blocks of five half days to enable
participants to attend to their day to day work whilst participating in
the program. The program will commence September 13 for Part I and
October 4 for Part II.
