NITF introduces Agrahara
The National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF) partners with Lanka
Hospitals Corporation PLC (LH) to open luxurious healthcare facilities
for over one million government servants who are insured under Agrahara
insurance scheme.
The MoU between NITF and LH was signed last week in Colombo. The CEO
of LH Lakith Peris said that over a million government servants will be
benefitted under this new partnership. LH provides superior medical
services with experienced local and foreign consultant doctors, latest
technology and equipment in a luxurious environment at an affordable
rate. "This is a paradigm shift in the private healthcare sector of Sri
Lanka. We offer 40 healthcare packages at a rate lower than all other
private hospitals in Sri Lanka," Peris said.
"Our rates are fully transparent and people can know the charges for
their treatment beforehand just now the situation is different as
patients cannot get even a clue of their medical bills until they are
discharged," he said.
Chairman NITF Senaka Abegunasekara said that this is a historic
occasion for government servants. 'Agrahara' insurance policy holders
will be privileged to reach for superior healthcare facilities.
We have modernised our operations and issued electronic cards
providing online payment facilities. A NITF counter has been opened at
Lanka Hospital to facilitate insurance policy holders. We make medical
payments up to Rs. 150,000 for normal treatments and upto Rs. 350,000
for surgery. In the budget proposals the government has decided to
increase these payments.
Government servants have been doing a great service to this country
and we should honour their services. (GW)
