Saunders edge out Jupiters 1-0

It was a disappointed performance for Saunders who had the opportunity to score half a dozen of goals against Jupitors who are struggling to come up on the points table of the Dialog Champions League. If Jupitors SC form Negombo does not get on to the real Champions rhythm they are sure to be relegated to the lower division next season.

Saunders on the other hand was once the glamour boys of local soccer is still not lived up to the expectations of their fans and their goal keeper will have to perform well if they are to make an impact during this competition.

The attacking midfielder Chatura Samarasekara who is just recovering from his knee injury scored for Saunders in the 64th minute and the National selectors will see him as a potential to come back to the National team which is to tour to Korea later this month.

Army-Air Force a draw 0-0

Air Force the only unbeaten team drew with Army at Kelaniya. The ball possession was 50: though both had scoring chances to go ahead. Their forwards lacked direction.

Both Airmen and Army has many experienced players and National poolists.
