CRICKET: Middle order batsman Sanath Silva hammered an unbeaten century from 91 balls to put the reigning champions Chilaw Marians CC on course to an outright victory over the BRC on the second day of their SLC under 23 Division one cricket tournament match which continued at Havelock Park yesterday.

Chilaw Marians CC: 468 for 8 and 284 for 7 (S. Silva 114 n.o, S. Pathirana 54, S. Weerakkody 39, H. Wanniarachchi 36, S. Alwis 4 for 55)

A fine all round performance from Nipun Karunanayake helped Bloomfield take a good first innings lead over their arch rivals SSC on the second day of their SLC under 23 Division one cricket tournament match which continued at Reid Avenue yesterday.
