Kegalu Book Fair - 2012, organised by the Kegalu Vidyalaya Old Boys
Association, Colombo branch to mark the 70th anniversary of the college
will be held on Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at its premises. Over
50 book publishers are expected to participate.
The Western band of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya entertained the
audience at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa theatre recently.
Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena was the chief guest.

Nirmani entertainment program
The annual variety entertainment program 'Nirmani',
presented by the students of Buddhist Ladies' College, Colombo 7
will be held at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the National Youth Centre,
Maharagama.
The chief guest will be First Lady Madam Shiranthi
Rajapaksa.
Meditation programs at ACBC
Meditation and Dharmadeshana programs organised by
the Dharmashoka Foundation will be held at the All Ceylon Buddhist
Congress (ACBC), Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7, every last Sunday
of the month from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Ven. Polpithimukalane Pragnasiri
Thera will deliver the Dhammadeshana.
The first program will be held today at 3 p.m.
He needs help for surgery
Seven-year-old
M.K. Ravindra Hemantha of 6/4, Kittampahuwa, Wellampitiya is
suffering from a serious heart disease which requires surgery to be
performed in India. The procedural package for treatment amounts to
Rs. 800,000.

School girl appeals for help
Sixteen-year-old
M.A. Sanduni Shashikala of 315 A, Palewila Sultanagoda, Matara is
suffering from progressive deformity of the spine which could lead
to paralysis if not corrected.
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. M. Vasantha
Perera has recommended immediate surgery to be performed free at the
Colombo National Hospital. But around Rs. 850,000 is required to
purchase necessary surgical implants from open market.
Sanduni's Mother, H.L. Deepika is unable to foot the
bill and appeals to the public to help by remitting their
