Serendib Education Foundation supports needy students

Serendib Education Foundation(SEF) celebrated its 20th anniversary recently. "SEF is focused on offering monthly assistance to talented students, project based support to educational institutions and any other activity that facilitates education,"said President SEF, Riza Mohamed.

He said that SEF's vision is to see that the future generation of scholars reach their highest potential in the acquisition of knowledge. Since 1991 the Serendib Education Foundation has offered scholarships to 2,000 students throughout Sri Lanka.

"Another objective of SEF is to develop individuals who have and the ability to become professionals who can serve the community and be recognised internationally", he said.

SEF recipient, Yahya Muhsin, currently pursuing a career in Engineering said, "I am enormously appreciative of the assistance given to me by the Serendib Education Foundation.

Their contributions towards students who don't have resources to pursue further educations helps us significantly."

Serendib Education Foundation (SEF) is incorporated under Parliamentary Act No. 54/2009 .
