SL to reach poverty-free middle income status soon - Dr P. B. Jayasundera
Budget 2013 maintains consistency, continuity and
clarity in Sri Lanka reaching poverty-free middle income country
status. The proposals are in the right direction and Sri Lanka will
go beyond the millennium development goals, Treasury Secretary, Dr.
P.B. Jayasundera said. Economic development will be equitable in
terms of opportunities, livelihood and poverty reduction.

SLSEA’s energy management program will save Rs. 135 b
The Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority
(SLSEA) will save Rs. 135 b during the next five years through its
National Energy Management Program, said SLSEA, Director General Dr.
Thusitha Sugathapala at a ceremony to award the ISO 50001:2011
Energy Management certification to Macbertan, a subsidiary of
McLarens Holdings Limited.
