Lanka IOC CSR work at China Bay

Lanka IOC recently rewarded the top achievers of its 'English for Young Learners' project at the China Bay Nalanda Maha Vidyalaya and the China Bay Tamil Vidyalayam in Trincomalee.

"This project is part of our wide-ranging CSR initiatives in Sri Lanka. Whichever country they belong to, children are a national treasure and a nation's hope for the future.

It is with this in mind that we always endeavour to engage and educate schoolchildren in different ways under our CSR initiatives," said Lanka IOC PLC's Managing Director, Subodh Dakwale.

One hundred and forty students from Grades 6-11, followed the nine-month project which comprised 54 hours of spoken and written course work. "This on-going project provides facilities for rural schoolchildren to learn the English language as a systematic means of communication", he said.
