SL SCA Division One tournament:

Benedictine Geethika takes the lead

Benedictine all-rounder Geethika Jayatilleka took the top spot with 2119 votes in the ‘platinum’ division for the schools taking part in the SLSCA Division I tournament at the end of last two weeks of voting at the 35th Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2013 Contest. Royalist Milan Abeysekera (2,101) and Peterite spinner Julien de Silva polled in (1982) to occupy the second and third places respectively.

Entries have been pouring in at a steady pace for the Division II (Gold) contest as well and Sakun de Silva of Sri Devananda, Ambalangoda was placed first with 1,832 votes, while Cheruka Herath of Sri Sumangala College, Panadura with 1,789 votes and Hasitha Kumaratunga of Sri Pannananda MV (Raddoluwa) took the third place with 1,523 votes.

In the Silver category for schools playing in Division III of the SLSCA tournament Sahan Dharmakeerthie of Ananda Sastralaya, Kotte (1,518), while Trishan Rodrigo of Loyala College, Negombo (1,477) and Ishara Rangana Hewage (1,314) took the second and third places.
