First innings win for Gurukula

Gurkula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya recorded a narrow five runs first innings
win over formidable Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya in their
inter-school under-19 cricket match played at Surrey Grounds, Maggona.
Resuming at 104 for 4 in reply to Gurukula total of 166 Palians were
all out for 161 runs and Namal Pathum was the chief wrecker for Gurukula
with 4 for 44. Ashan Jayashanka was the top scorer for Palians with 39
runs.
In their second essay Gurukula batted on till the close of play and
they were all out for 237 with Hashan Duminda scoring 88 runs and
Himasha Liyanage captured 5 for 53.
