the number of overs lost (70) in the first two days, with rain and
more rain predicted Royal’s medium pacer Chamika Karunaratne opened
the ‘gates’ for a Royal win with a sustained spell of medium pace
bowling in both innings with a match bag of (9 for 83) as Royal beat
S. Thomas’ by seven wickets at the 134th ‘Battle of the Blues’
encounter at the SSC grounds yesterday.

Bandula Padmakumara Challenge Trophy:
Elle tournament to celebrate Kreeda anniversary
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the
Kreeda magazine an ANCL publication, a triangular elle tournament
has been organised on March 16 from 2.00 pm at the Nawaloka
Playgrounds in Welisara. The tournament will be played for the
Bandula Padmakumara Challenge Trophy donated by the Chairman of the
ANCL.
